The Old Farmhouse
Silence and peace are the most distinctive qualities of this farmhouse. It is an ideal location for those who are seeking a relaxing holiday and at the same time wish to be close to the beach and to the main art cities of Tuscany. The estate, which is 4 km away from the main square of Castiglioncello and located on a crest at a distance of 1500 m from the sea, offers large green areas with breathtaking view on the coast and the Tuscan Archipelago. Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, our resort is comprised of apartments with independent entrance from where you can start your daily trips to visit Tuscany.
A 1,5 Km-long dirt road will lead you to this old farmhouse, on a very suggestive panoramic site. All around are lawns, forest and the sea. The house overlooks one of the most characteristic parts of the Tyrrhenian Coast. The accommodations are located in this old restored farmhouse and are comprised of 6 apartments completely independent and a common refreshment area. The pool is located 70 meters from the farmhouse; from here you can enjoy a beautiful panorama with sea view. The manager’s house, located at a discrete distance, guarantees the continuous presence and assistance while assuring guest privacy.
The restoration of the farm has fully preserved the original architecture and its environment, typical of Tuscan farmhouses. Each restoration work has been done with great care and attention as far as the choice of materials was concerned. Wood Beams, joists, doors and windows have been built using exclusively Chestnut wood from Tuscany (Monte Amiata). Floors and decks are completely made of reclaimed materials. Furnishing is comprised of restored antique pieces as well as handcrafted ones. Internal lightning has been provided by a local artisan and exclusively crafted for our resort. Hot water is provided by solar panels while wastewater occurs through plant sewage treatment. The building is described in the Estimo of Castelnuovo della Misericordia of 1795. Historically these places comprised the well-known Park of San Quirico, a large and profitable forest portion belonging to archbishopric of Pisa, Tuscan headquarter of the Catholic Church from the early ‘400.
